Thanks to everyone who joined us for to celebrate the students at the marching band banquet last night and congratulations to all on a great season! We're on to winter!
The winter guard had a great performance at the Winter Guard Evaluation Show in Salem, MA. Their show is titled, "Toxic" and uses the song of the same name by Britney Spears.
Winter percussion is starting off strong with a group of 16 students. The group is performing a concert percussion show this year entitled, "Serengeti" by Chris Crockarell.
Both groups will compete later this month at Dartmouth High School on February 23rd, then on March 17th at Somerset Berkley, March 24th at Shepherd Hill and each group will compete at their own finals competitions. Good luck!
Camp rehearsals are Monday, August 13- Friday, August 17, from 12:30-9:00 pm each day. These rehearsals take place at Plymouth North High School. Students should be dropped off and picked up from the back side of the building. There is an outside entrance to the Band Room.

We are excited to announce that the Plymouth High Schools Marching Band Show for the 2018-2019 school year is entitled, "Uprising." The show is composed/arranged by Matt Hightower with percussion by Josh Powell.
"Uprising" is a timely tale of rebellion against an overbearing authority. The music for the show contrasts the defiant music of English hard rockers Muse with a timeless melody by Stephen Foster.
You can hear the music and check out the show concept at the following link:
Be sure to check out our show at a football game or at the competition we are hosting in the fall!
Congratulations to all of the performers at All-Town. This year, it was exciting to see all band and orchestra students in Plymouth have an opportunity to perform at each of these concerts. Good things are happening in the instrumental music department and that was evident during each of these concerts! Thank you to the students, teachers, conductors and audience members for making this such a great set of concerts!
Great job this past Saturday at the Humarock Horribles Parade in Scituate! The fun parade officially kicks off our marching band season and is a great way to get started. Thank you to all the students who committed time on their Labor Day weekend to participate!
Going forward, we have a lot on the calendar. This Friday, September 8th is our first football game for the season. It is at North this week and call time is at 5:30pm. For those of you who don't have marching shoes yet, please wear the darkest pair of sneakers you own (black is preferable if you have a pair of black sneakers). Front ensemble students who do not have marching shoes can wear sneakers or black dress shoes.
Please be sure to check the marching band calendar regularly (it can be found under the Marching Band tab). We will be updating it throughout the season. Please try to check it at least once a week, if not more often. As of today, our football games and competitions are all listed in the calendar. Please note that times for these may change slightly. We will get more accurate times as each event approaches. Also, please be sure to check the location for the football games. They can change weekly!
See you all on Thursday for our regular 5:30-8:00 rehearsal. Let's keep this good momentum going into our first football game!
